Volunteer Opportunities
Our organization depends on volunteers, church leaders, and laypeople who bring a passion for a redemptive imagination of community. From bookkeepers to beekeepers, project managers to painters, financiers to farmers, and cashiers to construction workers, there is a place for everyone to contribute their talents to our ever-expanding community of creative and curious families and individuals.

We believe everyone has something to give and something to receive—something to teach and something to learn. Let’s start a conversation about how you can be part of this growing movement.

Materials Procurement Volunteer

This role is all about finding what we need and helping stretch resources as far as possible. You’ll connect with local stores, suppliers, and partners to source donated or discounted building materials, furniture, and other essentials.

That might look like reaching out to businesses, following up on potential leads, or keeping track of what’s been secured and what’s still needed. There’s a bit of creativity involved—finding opportunities, making connections, and seeing possibilities others might miss.

This is a great fit for someone who’s resourceful, comfortable reaching out to people, and enjoys the challenge of turning conversations into real support. If you like the idea of helping provide the materials that make everything else possible, this role plays an important part behind the scenes.

Administrative Support and Project Management

This role helps keep things moving behind the scenes. You might be organizing schedules, keeping track of details, helping coordinate projects, or making sure important tasks don’t fall through the cracks.

The work is remote and flexible, but it plays an important part in helping a small team stay focused and effective. There’s a mix of routine tasks and one-off needs, depending on what’s going on.

This could be a great fit if you’re organized, dependable, and like helping things run a little more smoothly for everyone else.

Volunteer Coordinator

This role helps make sure people who want to get involved actually find their place. As a Volunteer Coordinator, you’ll welcome new volunteers, connect them to opportunities that fit, and keep things organized so everyone knows where to show up and what to expect.

You might respond to inquiries, keep track of who’s helping with what, send reminders, help plan volunteer days, and take photos to capture and share what’s happening. A big part of the role is simply staying in touch—making sure people feel included, informed, and appreciated.

This is a great fit for someone who enjoys connecting people, keeping things organized, and helping others follow through on their desire to contribute. It’s less about managing and more about making it easy for people to say “yes” and step in.

Mental Health Professional

This role offers steady, thoughtful support to individuals and families in the community. It might look like sitting down with someone who’s having a hard day, helping people process what they’re carrying, or connecting them to additional care when needed.

There may also be opportunities to create small group spaces or support staff in understanding how to respond well in different situations. The work is flexible and relational, shaped by what’s actually needed day to day.

We’re looking for someone with professional training who is also comfortable working in a setting that doesn’t always feel clinical. Someone who listens well, stays grounded, and cares about walking alongside people over time.

Sacred Settlement Storyteller

This role is all about noticing and sharing what’s really happening in the life of the community. The Storyteller spends time at gatherings and events, gets to know people, and captures meaningful moments through photos and simple, honest writing.

You might write short reflections, share updates, or document everyday life in a way that helps others see and feel what makes this community special. It’s less about polished content and more about paying attention and telling the truth of what you see.

This could be a great fit if you’re naturally curious, enjoy being around people, and like capturing moments as they unfold.

Social Media

Do you love telling stories online and figuring out how to get them seen by more people? This role is all about sharing the life of our community while tweaking posts, timing, and strategies to maximize reach and engagement.

You’ll help post updates, share photos or short videos, and experiment with ways to make our content resonate and connect with a wider audience. It’s a collaborative role—you’ll work with the team to make sure everything shared feels authentic and reflects the heart of the settlement.

No professional experience is required—just a love for social media, curiosity about algorithms, and excitement for helping meaningful stories reach more people.

Purposeful Workshop Lead

This role is all about creating meaningful, hands-on opportunities for our Neighbors to engage, create, and grow. As a Workshop Lead, you’ll design and facilitate simple, purposeful work—projects that invite participation, build confidence, and create a sense of ownership and pride.

Workshops might include creative projects, light production work, or skill-building activities. The goal isn’t perfection—it’s creating space for people to show up, try something new, and experience the dignity of meaningful work.

This is a creative role that benefits from someone who can think outside the box and adapt ideas to fit different people and situations. A background in art therapy or a related field is especially helpful, but not required.

This could be a great fit if you enjoy creating, working with your hands, and designing experiences that help others feel capable, valued, and engaged.

Construction Volunteer

This role is centered on building tiny homes at our Design Center—simple as that. You’ll be part of a team working with tools, following plans, and helping bring each home together piece by piece.

No two days look exactly the same. Some days you might be measuring and cutting, other days assembling or finishing details. There’s always something to learn, and plenty of opportunity to grow your skills along the way.

You don’t need a ton of experience to get started. If you’re willing to show up, learn, and work with your hands, we’d love to have you. This is a great fit for someone who enjoys practical work and likes seeing real progress at the end of the day.

Renovation Volunteer

Help us bring the Settled Homestead to life! This is a hands-on role where volunteers pitch in on basic renovation projects—painting, sanding, light carpentry, and other simple tasks that help our “cultural immersion” center feel welcoming and ready for visitors.

No special experience is needed—if you’re willing to show up, learn, and lend a hand, you can make a real difference. Each project is a chance to practice new skills, work alongside others, and see tangible progress as the Homestead comes together.

This is a great fit for anyone who enjoys practical work, being part of a team, and contributing to a space where churches can learn, grow, and explore new ideas.
