Full Community explained.

by the Settled Team

At Settled, we call our approach Full Community because it’s about people, purpose, and place—together. Full Community is a relationship-driven, community-based model for addressing long-term homelessness. In partnership with faith communities, we establish tiny home villages known as Sacred Settlements, where every person has something to offer and something to receive. When neighbors invest themselves—through skill, friendship, or simply showing up—the community as a whole becomes stronger and more complete.

Full Community is built around five key elements: Intentional Neighbors, Permanent Homes, Cultivated Place, Purposeful Work, and Supportive Friends. Intentional Neighbors are individuals who choose to live simply alongside their neighbors, helping build connection and family-like bonds. Permanent Homes give stability, while shared Cultivated Places like gardens, kitchens, and community facilities create natural opportunities and spaces for connection. Purposeful Work allows neighbors to contribute, learn, and earn, and Supportive Friends provide consistent friendship that gives the trust and support that helps people thrive.

Full Community is more than housing—it’s a way of life. Faith communities, volunteers, and neighbors all play a role in making it possible. Every single person is wanted and needed.
