A city united in prayer.

by the Settled Team

In Maple Grove, Minnesota, local churches came together in a powerful night of worship, prayer, and song to support the launch of the city’s first Sacred Settlement. Pastors and congregations from across the Twin Cities set aside denominational and philosophical differences to stand together for a shared vision: providing permanent, loving homes for neighbors experiencing homelessness.

This gathering was more than symbolic. After worship, attendees gathered in the city council chamber, lending their voices to advocate for Sacred Settlement Open Door. Even in the face of opposition, hope and unity took root. This event was a tangible reminder that the church can act as a family for the most vulnerable—those without homes or support. Thousands of individuals, united in heart and purpose, showed what happens when faith communities respond to God’s call to care for their neighbors.

Sacred Settlement Open Door is about more than building homes for the homeless—it’s about building community, restoring dignity, and creating a space where people can heal and belong. As this initiative grows, so does the witness of a church willing to lay down comfort for the sake of others, demonstrating that love can overcome fear, and unity can overcome division.
